The 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan‘ Scheme has introduced a new MSME Definition in 2020 by Government of India with following features :
1. Collateral Free MSME business Loan 2.MSME Loan worth of Rs. 3 lakh crore 3. Moratorium period offered is 12 months 4. Manufacturing and Service MSMEs shall be considered as same entities 5. Repayment Tenure of 48 months 6. 100% Credit Guarantee 7. Expected to benefit approx. 45 lakh units.

Type of business: Manufacturing Sector (in terms of investment) Micro - < Rs.25 lakh Small - < Rs.5 crore Medium - < Rs.10 crore
Type of business: Service Sector Size of business (in terms of investment) Micro - < Rs.10 lakh Small - < Rs.2 crore Medium - < Rs.5 crore
List of documents required for MSME Loans
1. Proof of Identity: PAN card, Aadhaar card, Voter’s ID, Passport.
2. Proof of Residence: Rental agreement, ration card, utility bills
3. Proof of Business Address: Rental agreement, lease agreement, utility bills
4. Proof of Income: P/L account and balance sheet copies of last 2 years.
5. Tax documents: IT returns, sales tax return, PAN card, Proof of securities provided
6. Photocopies of title deeds/lease deeds offered as securities
7. Other documents:
Projected balance sheet, project report, etc.
Eligibility Criteria for MSME business loans:
1. The manufacturing unit is operational for the last one year.
2. IT returns are filed on time for the last one year.
3. GST returns are filed for the last 6 months on time.
Features of MSME loans
1. Interest Rate: 7.65% pa onwards. 2. Loan Amount: Rs.50,000 onwards. 3. Loan Tenure: Up to 15 years. 4. Processing Fee: Subject to the each lender.

MSME Business Loans can be used for a variety of purposes, including:
1.Meeting working capital requirements
2. Improving the business
3. Expansion of a new and innovative business
4. Better business Cash Flow Management
5. Installation of new machinery and equipment
6. Obtaining business tools, vehicles, and other fixed assets.
7. Inventory creation, such as raw materials, semi or finished stock.
MSME registration process:
Given below are the steps you will have to follow to register for MSME as a new user
1.Click on the link given https://udyamregistration.gov.in/Government-India/Ministry-MSME-registration.htm.
2. If you have not registered before, click on ‘New Entrepreneurs who are not Registered yet as MSME or those with EM-II'.
3. You will have to provide your name and Aadhaar details and click on ‘Validate and Generate OTP’. A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile number. Enter the OTP to authenticate.
4. You will then have to provide the details of your PAN, organisation you are a part of and validate it.
5. In the next step, provide your personal details and the details of the industry or plant you are a part of.
6. After entering all the details, click on ‘Submit and Get Final OTP’. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Enter the OTP following which you will receive a message for the successful registration of MSME.
